Mystery of the Iron Club of Hijiri and the Living Saint

[ Prologue ]

INU:   It's now time for Inuyasha!

KAG:  To find the Sacred Jewel fragments,

INU:   I have to defeat Naraku with this Tetsusaiga!

KAG:  Hakushin, the living incarnate, has disappeared. The decisive battle takes place at the sacred Hijiri Island. With the barrier gone, Bankotsu and Inuyasha face off at full power!

INU:   Miroku and Sango and Shippo and Kirara!

KAG:  An excitng adventure unfolds!

INU & KAG: Inuyasha!

[ ACT I ]

Recap from previous episode. BKS and INU are fighting. MIR and SHN look at a barrier in the ground put up by Hakushin's iron club. MIR raises his sceptre high up.

SHN:  Lend me your power, Father.

SHN raises his staff high up too. MIR and SHN then strike the barrier at the same time. Static surges and a heavy wind blows. The barrier finally shatters and the flowers on the island fade away. MIR, SHN and KAG examine the iron club on the ground.

MIR:   That's what made the barrier.

SHN:  It's the iron club that was given to the temple!

KAG:  (thinking) Does that mean that Hakushin is lending his power to Naraku?

[ Title screen: Mystery of the Iron Club of Hijiri and the Living Saint ]

Cut to INU and BKS facing off each other.

BKS:   That stinking barrier has finally disappeared. (swings Banryuu) It's about time we settled this!

INU looks at BKS worriedly. Cut to SAN taking SHI in her arms.

SAN:  Luckily, he has regained his demonic prowess.

MIR:   Inuyasha is at a disadvantage. His left arm is injured.

KAG:  (thinking) Are you alright, Inuyasha? Bankotsu's sword, the Banryuu, has two Sacred Jewel fragments.

Cut to BKS and INU.

BKS:   I'd really like a taste of that "Wind Scar" of yours.

INU:   I shall grant your wish!

TET throbs and a wind vortex appears around the blade.

INU:   Take this! Wind Scar!!

INU throws a Wind Scar towards BKS. BKS scoffs and leaps into mid air. He spins Banryuu.

BKS:   Banryuu Strike!!

BKS swings his sword down. A pink aura appears around Banryuu and deflects the Wind Scar. Everyone shields themselves from the clash of auras.

KAG:  Bankotsu…

MIR:   … has deflected the Wind Scar!

INU:   (smirks, thinking) All I need is to see his demonic aura. I've been waiting to use the Backlash Wave.

BKS sprints towards INU.

INU:   (shocked, thinking) What?! I can't see Bankotsu's demonic aura! Backlash Wave can't be used?

BKS:   Why do you look so surprised?!

BKS swings Banryuu at INU, who leaps and dodges. BKS strikes the ground instead and the area is covered in smoke.

KAG:  (worried) Inuyasha!

SHI regains consciousness and looks around groggily. He stretches and lets out a yawn.

SHI:   I feel a lot better all of a sudden.

SAN:  Shippo, you're finally awake.

SHI:   I only remembered that I felt terrible…

SAN:  You passed out because of the sacred barrier. Perhaps, your demonic power was purified.

SHI:   Is that so? (gasps) Where is Inuyasha?

SAN:  He's battling Bankotsu.

The smoke dissipates to reveal INU thrusting TET in the ground.

INU:   Damn!

BKS:   Hmph. Trying to pull a stunt? Looks like it didn't work out.

INU:   Damn it!

SHI:   Hey, Inuyasha! Hang in there!

SAN:  Inuyasha's arm was injured.

SHI:   It's dangerous…

Cute KIR growls and runs forward.

SAN:  Kirara?

Cute KIR transforms and runs to INU.

SAN:  That's it, Kirara! Help Inuyasha! He won't last long with his injury!

INU:   (thinking) Before his death, Bankotsu was a human. If he was able to use such a powerful attack, there should be a demonic source somewhere.

MIR:   Backlash Wave is a deadly sword move that envelops and reverses the flow of an opponent's demonic aura. Since Bankotsu is a human zombie, he doesn't have demon aura to envelop.

BKS:   The Sacred Jewel fragments will bring you down.

KAG:  (thinking) The black light of a defiled fragment. (gasps and shouts) Inuyasha! Bankotsu is using the demonic powers of the Sacred Jewel fragments in his sword!

INU:   (thinking) Perfect! Now, I can use the Backlash Wave!

A vortex surrounds TET.

BKS:   (thinking) He's planning something. (points Banryuu) You won't have a chance to pull it off! Think you can use the same trick against me?

BKS strikes Banryuu into the ground and somersaults. When he's upright, he is lifted in mid-air by Banryuu. INU is shocked. BKS turns himself upright again and points Banryuu high up in the air. Dark clouds start to surround him. Lightning flashes and gather around Banryuu.

MIR:   He summoned a thunderstorm?

INU:   Damn, what is he planning to do?

BKS:   Take this! Yuraisen! Even I can't predict where they will strike.

The lightning gather high up into an orb and strikes the ground.

INU:   Lightning?!

MIR:   We won't be able to dodge the lightning when it strikes!

SHN shrieks and runs away. Everyone cowers to shield themselves from the lightning strikes. MIR forms a barrier around himself and KAG who is nearby.

KAG:  Look out, Shintarou! (chases SHN)

MIR:   Kagome! Don't leave the barrier…!

KAG grabs SHN and shields him as a lightning strikes near them.

NIR: Kagome!

More lightning strikes the ground and MIR, SAN, SHI and KIR are hit. Gradually, the lightning ceases. Cut to INU lying on the ground. He struggles up and coughs out some blood. He looks around at SAN, SHI and KIR who are unconscious on the ground.

INU:   Sango… Shippo, Kirara… (looks around frantically) Kagome? Kagome!

INU notices KAG and SHN unconscious a distance behind him.

INU:   (worried) Kagome! (crawls towards KAG) Kago… Kagome. (collapses on the ground weakly) Damn you for hurting Kagome like that.

BKS:   (stands in front of INU) Well, I did tell you, I can't predict where the lightning will strike. Just lay right there… I'll chop you up with my blade!

BKS swings Banryuu at INU on the ground. Cut to long shot of Hijiri Island. INU's yell is heard throughout. Cut to INU holding up TET and blocking Banryuu.

INU:   Bastard, this match… (pushes BKS and swings TET) is between you and me! Bastard! You shouldn't have involved Kagome and the others!

INU attacks BKS violently and swiftly with TET. BKS blocks every blow with Banryuu.

BKS:   What are you muttering about?

BKS leaps backwards and raises Banryuu high up. A pink light surrounds its blade.

BKS:   Take this!

BKS swings Banryuu down and the red light surges towards INU.

INU:   Do you think that's work again?!

INU throws an aura from TET, which collides with Banryuu's pink light.

INU:   Stop your dirty tricks!

BKS:   Cut your crap! It's every man for himself!

INU:   I'll destroy you no matter what!

INU and BKS continue throwing auras from their swords at each other. The light orbs collide and gather in the middle. BKS struggles to hold on. INU then leaps high up in mid air, raising TET.

INU:   You're finished!

Suddenly the iron club on the ground flies up and strikes TET just when it's about to hit BKS. INU gasps in shock. The club exudes light which surround the island. BKS leaps backwards and scoffs. The light bathes everyone on the island and they regain consciousness.

MIR:   Hakushin's iron club? Could it be…!

TET reverts back to its rusty state and the iron club falls to the ground.

INU:   (thinking) Hakushin's…? Did it purify the demonic aura of my Tetsusaiga?! (bewildered) What's going on?!

MIR:   That iron club…! It was the heart of the sacred barrier on this island. For some reason, Hakushin is on Bankotsu's side.

SHN:  (shakes head) That's impossible!

BKS:   (scoffs) It seems I'm being told to finish up quickly. Though I don't like people doubting my ability… (swings Banryuu and sprints towards INU) Sorry to end this so soon, idiots…!

Suddenly KAG fires a Sacred Arrow at BKS and it strikes his arm. BKS stops, shocked.

INU:   Kagome!

BKS:   I'll kill you, woman!

KAG:  Don't think too highly of yourself!

The flesh around the Sacred Arrow disintegrates.

MIR:   His arm turned into bones…!

BKS:   (thinking) A purifying arrow? That must be Kikyo's incarnate, Kagome?

The iron club on the ground throbs and surrounds BKS with a light.

BKS:   (slowly fading away, shocked) What?

SAN:  Bankotsu…

SHI:   is disappearing…

INU:   Bankotsu, you bastard!

INU sprints towards BKS but a barrier is formed around BKS and fries INU. INU tries desperately to claw at BKS through the barrier.

INU:   Stop there! (thinking) Damn it, the barrier…

BKS finally disappears, together with the barrier. INU plops to the ground.

INU:   (thinking) He's disappeared?!

KAG:  (runs to INU) Inuyasha! Are you alright?

INU:   Yeah, but…

MIR:   It's not just Bankotsu. The iron club vanished with him too.

SAN:  The iron club allowed Bankotsu to escape?

MIR:   Most likely.

Cut to SHN looking at the broken shrine.

SHN:  (sad) Saint… Where has Saint Hakushin gone to? Where have they taken our saint?

INU and KAG look at SHN in silence.

BKS arrives in a shrine surround by mist.

BKS:   (furious) Damn it… What the hell happened? Who's behind all these…? (looks around) Where am I?

KOH and KAN appear and walks slowly towards BKS.

KOH:  Lord Bankotsu.

BKS:   Kohaku and Kanna? Where's this place? I'm feeling awful around here.

KOH:  This is not a comfortable place for people with evil thoughts.

BKS:   And you are feeling fine? Aren't you a spy?

KOH:  I'm not a spy.

KAN picks up the iron club next to BKS.

BKS:   (thinking) That's right, I was enveloped by the light that the iron club emitted.

KAN walks towards an altar and places the iron club in front of a mummy. The mummy is seated is a prayer position on the altar.

BKS:   It's him… I see. This must be the Saint Hakushin that Inuyasha and the others were talking about. This must be the living saint, Hakushin… The mummy who had erected the barriers on Mount Hakurei and Hijiri Island.

Cut to close up of the dried up face of Saint Hakushin.

[ End of ACT I: 15min 18sec ]

[ ACT II ]

Daytime in SHN's village. SHN carries a bundle in his hands. His sisters and INU-gang surround him.

Yuki:  Our father?

Hana:  He died while protecting the temple?

SHN:  Our Saint Hakushin has disappeared from the island. It's all because of a demon called Naraku. Father fought with that Naraku.

Hana:  Is that so…

Yuki:  He died honourably, didn't he?

SHN:  (holds up the bundle) Our father's bones.

Hana:  Father…

MIR:   We should give him a proper burial…

GIN, HAK and the wolves arrive at a waterfall. A cave is seen behind the waterfall.

GIN:  (sighs) He's not here.

HAK:  (looks around) Where did he go?

KOG:  (walks out of cave) You guys are so slow!

HAK:  (glad, shouts) Hey, Koga!!!

GIN:  We finally caught up with him.

Cut to KOG-gang walking into the cave.

KOG:  I chased after it and finally cornered it in this cave.

Up ahead, a huge dead boar is lying on the ground. HAK and GIN run up excitedly and jumps onto the boar. The wolves follow suit.

HAK:  Meat, meat, meat!

GIN:  There's enough here to feed an army!

Cut to KOG-gang eating around a campfire.

KOG:  This really reminds me of home.

HAK:  Don't really feels comfortable somehow…

KOG:  It's due to the barrier. We can't go near because we're demons. It's all around this mountain… It's also within this cave.

HAK:  Such great measures…

KOG:  We'll leave after this…

HAK and GIN are shocked.

KOG:  (determined) Those Shichinintai bastards have taken refuge inside this barrier. We'll need to find a way to get in there.

Cut to INU-gang waving goodbye to SHN and his sisters.

KAG:  Shintarou and sisters, do take care!

SHN:  I'll pray for you while you're on your journey!

MIR:   If there's a situation, or by any chance that you get lonely, please send for me anytime!

SAN:  (pulls MIR's ear and drags him along) That's enough, Miroku!

Getsu: Many thanks to you as well!

Cut to SES-gang on a cliff looking at Mount Hakurei in the distance.

Rin:  What an incredible valley, Jaken.

JAK:   (sweating, dizzy) Even though we're so far away from Mount Hakurei, I still feel awful…

SES:   (thinking) The pure aura that keeps out evil presence reaches this far. We'll meet soon, Naraku. (jumps into the valley)

JAK:   Lord Sesshomaru! How cool…

SES gets further and further away.

JAK:   (panics) Lord Sesshomaru!!

Rin:  Let's go, Ah-Un.

A-Un, with Rin on its back, fly off towards SES.

JAK:   Hey, Rin, take me with you!

A-Un flings its tail towards JAK, who catches it and hold on tightly.

JAK:   Don't go so fast! I'm going to fall!

Static surges around JAK due to Mount Hakurei's aura. He groans and moans in pain.

Rin:  Don't scream in such a weird voice!

JAK:   You dare say that.

Rin:  You're annoying.

KIK is saying goodbye to the children in Suikotsu's village.

Chiyo:  Lady Kikyo, do you really have to leave?

KIK:   I'm sorry. I'd like to stay a little longer, but…

Chiyo:  Mister Suikotsu is gone.

Yuuta: And now even Lady Kikyo is… It would be nice if you could stay until Mister Suikotsu returns.

KIK:   Even after what happened, all of you are still going to wait?

Chiyo:  Though Mister Suikotsu faints at the sight of blood, he's really a good person…

KIK:   (thinking) It was Mister Suikotsu's kindness that kept these children alive. However…

Yuuta: If you ever meet Mister Suikotsu, please tell him that we're waiting for his return.

Chiyo:  Yuuta…

KIK:   (nods and smiles) I will. It's a promise.

KIK is walking in the mountains.

KIK:   (thinking) Because of the sacred barrier on Mount Hakurei, Mister Suikotsu has disappeared. Yuuta, Chiyo… the Suikotsu that you know no longer exists…

KIK stops and looks back at Mount Hakurei in the distance.

KIK:   (thinking) The barrier has become even stronger. It's almost time for me…

KIK turns and walks away.

Cut to INU-gang at the foot of Mount Hakurei. SHI is in KAG's arms, looking dazed and weak. SAN is holding a weak KIR in her arms.

INU:   (thinking) The barrier's power is getting stronger.

KAG:  Shippo's eyes can't seem to stop spinning…

INU:   Hey Miroku, is Naraku really hiding on Mount Hakurei?

MIR:   This sacred barrier is definitely being held up by Saint Hakushin.

SAN:  Why did Saint Hakushin protect people like Naraku and Bankotsu?

INU:   An evil-doer like Naraku shouldn't be able to enter the sacred grounds, but…

MIR:   Once he's inside, there's nowhere safer for him. Naraku's pursuers… Like Koga and Sesshomaru, and you, Inuyasha… Not even Lady Kikyo can enter Mount Hakurei.

SAN:  Let's get going, Priest.

MIR:   Yes.

INU:   You guys…?

MIR:   Sango and I will check out Mount Hakurei.

SAN:  Wait for us, Inuyasha and Kagome.

KAG:  B-But, will the two of you be alright by yourselves?

SAN:  (hands KIR to KAG) Please take care of Kirara since I can't take her with me.

KAG:  Sango…

MIR:   Don't worry, Kagome. (strokes SAN's butt) I won't even have the time to caress Sango's bottom.

SAN:  You don't have to do it while saying it! (knocks MIR's head with HIR)

KAG:  That's not what I'm worried about… We won't know what's going on inside the barrier.

SAN:  Since Inuyasha can't enter, we'll have to go, right?

KAG:  But…

INU:   Hey, Sango, Miroku. Just look around… Don't take any risks.

MIR and SAN look at INU and smile.

MIR:   That's what we'll do…

SAN:  See you.

SAN and MIR walk towards Mount Hakurei.

KAG:  I wonder if they'll be alright.

INU:   We'll just have to trust their abilities.
