Kagome, Miroku & Sango in Danger

[ Prologue ]

INU:   It's now time for Inuyasha!

KAG:  To find the Sacred Jewel fragments,

INU:   I have to defeat Naraku with this Tetsusaiga!

KAG:  The resurrected zombies of the Shichinintai. We’re cornered by them at a temple. Inuyasha is trying his best to save us.

INU:   Miroku and Sango and Shippo and Kirara!

KAG:  An excitng adventure unfolds!

INU & KAG: Inuyasha!

[ recap ]

Flashback from previous episode. Steel blades suddenly fly out from the forest across the lake towards INU-gang.

SHI:   Wh-What's that?!

INU:   Take cover! Shippo, Kirara!

INU, SHI and KIR duck as the blades fly past them and cuts some trees. Cut to Ginkotsu [GKS] in the forest across the lake. A barrel on his back rises and fires a shrapnel bomb. The bomb explodes and shrapnel shower the area.

INU:   What?!

Cut to INU and GKS fighting in the forest. INU is running and dodging GKS's steel blades. The blades return to GKS, gain more speed and spin towards INU again in different directions.

GKS:  Inuyasha, you can now die without regrets.

INU blocks some of them with TET, but one of them slices him in the shoulder. The blades return to GKS.

Cut to the rest of INU-gang resting in a temple taken over by Renkotsu [RKS]. KAG wakes.

RKS:  So you're awake. That's great. Please rest well.

KAG gasps as she notices a pink glow in RKS's neck.

KAG:  (thinking) A Sacred Jewel fragment. This person is… one of the Shichinintai…?

Back to INU and GKS. INU is tangled in a web of steel wires.

INU:   (thinking) What should I do? I can't use Wind Scar now. What should I do… (looks up and smirks) It's worth a shot.

INU sheathes TET and sprints carefully among the steel wires.

GKS:  Be prepared to die!

GKS spins more steel blades towards INU. INU continue running towards GKS. GKS then throws out his clamp-hand. INU jumps onto the clamp and springs off. GKS then unsheathes his sword only to find INU gone. INU is high up in the air, leaping down towards GKS, who is shocked.

INU:   Wind… Scar!!!

INU throws a Wind Scar which cuts GKS. A large hole is made in the ground and GKS falls in, shrieking. INU lands. GKS is covered in rubble. INU gasps and looks up. The sun is almost setting.

Cut to INU sprinting in a forest.

INU:   (thinking) Kagome! Kagome, wait for me!

[ ACT I ]

Evening. INU sprints up a slope and through a forest on a hill.

INU:   (thinking) What's that smell? It's the scent of a dead person and grave dirt. Are the Shichinintai ahead? No, that's not it.

Cut to INU arriving at the temple courtyard. He stops and looks around, finding a burnt tree.

INU:   (thinking) This smell…

INU runs to the back of the temple, where Renkotsu [RKS] is burying some dead monks. INU looks at him apprehensively. RKS turns to INU.

RKS:  Are you… Master Inuyasha? I've been waiting for you.

INU:   What did you say?

INU walks into the room where the gang is sleeping. He kneels next to KAG.

INU:   Everyone's okay…

RKS:  (walks in) Were you being chased?

INU:   You are…?

RKS:  As you can see, I'm a monk of this temple. A rumor has been spreading. The Shichinintai who supposedly died over ten years ago, have somehow come back to life and are causing havoc.

INU:   (thinking) Shichinintai?

RKS:  The people that I just buried were burnt to death by a zombie.

INU:   (apprehensive) You're the only who's still alive?

RKS:  I was hiding behind the Buddha statue when the zombie attacked. I heard that you and your friends are being pursued by the Shichinintai.

INU:   (fierce) Monk, we're not being chased! We're chasing them!

RKS:  If you know this… Please enlighten me. Why did the Shichinintai come back to life?

INU:   Why do you ask…?

RKS:  I serve the Buddha, and I've seen death and suffering. I feel helpless sometimes. But I could at least try to pacify the zombies.

INU:   (thinking) This smell… (looks down) Forget it, a monk like you can't handle this. (thinking) He doesn't seem to be one of the Shichinintai. He smells like a living human.

Cut to MYO flying on the back of a crow.

MYO:  What's that? Fly lower!

The crow flies closer to the ground where INU and GKS had their fight.

MYO:  There's no mistake. These are the marks of Master Inuyasha's Wind Scar. I guess Master Inuyasha didn't come to the Northern lands just for hot springs. (glad)

Suddenly the rubble on the ground moves. GKS gets up slowly.

MYO:  Oh no! Fly higher! Higher!!! Get out of here, hurry!

KOG is sprinting along a path. HAK and GIN run after him.

HAK:  Wait up, Koga!

GIN:  (panting) When it comes to Sis Kagome, he's really motivated!

KOG:  (thinking) Where is that Inuyasha? (gasps) I smell grave dirt!

The sun is almost setting in the temple. INU is talking to RKS.

RKS:  This… Naraku… resurrected the zombies? Who is this Naraku?

INU:   He's like a demon.

RKS:  What does that mean?

INU:   He's not completely a demon. Right now, the bastard is hiding himself somewhere. He's probably still absorbing demons to gather more power. Meanwhile, the Shichinintai are just being used as a shield.

A loud explosion is heard. Cut to GKS moving up the steps to the temple. Cut to temple.

INU:   (stands) That must be Ginkotsu. That bastard is still alive! (runs out) Monk, stay back if you don't want to die!

RKS:  (closes the door, thinking) That idiot Ginkotsu, if only he'd taken a while longer to get here. Anyway, at least I know that Naraku cannot be trusted.

RKS takes the Sacred Jewel fragments from KAG. The purple marks over his face returns. He smirks and looks at the sleeping KAG, SHI, SAN, KIR and MIR.

RKS:  Now… is the right time for you to die.

Cut to steps of temple.

GKS:  (chuckles) Inuyasha.

INU:   (leaps out) Ginkotsu! Do you still want to fight?

GKS steps back and flings his clamp-hand at INU. INU slashes the chain with TET.

INU:   It's useless!

GKS then releases steel wires from his shoulders which tangle around INU's wrists, thighs and TET.

INU:   (struggling) What… Steel wires again?

GKS:  Got you.

INU:   (struggles) You idiot! I won't be defeated so easily! (jumps) Take that…! Go to hell…!

INU jumps, despite the wires, and slashes GKS. GKS collapses to the ground in shock.

INU:   (scoffs) Serves you right! (gasps) The smell of smoke?

INU turns around to find the temple starting to burn.

INU:   (running up steps) Kagome!

RKS:  (appears on steps and laughs) I am Renkotsu of the Shichinintai.

INU:   Bastard! (thinking) What's going on? Where's that monk? Why does he smell of human?

RKS:  What's wrong, Inuyasha? You look really confused. Don't you have a good sense of smell? You could have caught me earlier, but my body didn't smell of the dead and grave dirt.

INU:   I see. Damn it. This place…!

RKS:  This temple is a wonderful place. There's burial soil surrounding it. My scent blends in completely. Anyway, I put on the clothes of a monk who was living here. And since you could only catch the scent of a human, you let your guard down.

INU:   Bastard! You killed the monks of this temple?

RKS:  You've seen them before. I was burying them.

INU:   (furious) If only I'd seen through his disguise…!

Inside the temple where INU-gang is sleeping. Cinders fall as the roof starts to burn.

Cut to a crow carrying MYO in its beak in the sky.

MYO:  What is that smoke?

The crow caws and MYO falls downwards. He panics as he rolls down the roof. He manages to stop rolling down the roof in time, to see the rest of INU-gang sleeping in the room below.

MYO:  Hey, Kagome!

MYO enters and jumps onto KAG and SHI.

MYO:  Wake up, Shippo! It's me, Myoga! Shippo!! (sucks SHI)

SHI:   (wakes and slaps MYO groggily) What…happened to me? I fell asleep from the smoke on the incense burner…

A few burning pillars collapses. SHI shrieks and runs to MIR, SAN and KAG.

SHI:   Miroku, wake up! Sango! Kagome!!! It's no use, they're out cold. It's because of that poison…!

CUT TO FLASHBACK from episode 104, when Mukotsu poisoned KAG at the well.

KAG:  Poisonous smoke!

Mukotsu appears before KAG, holding out a container with black fumes. KAG becomes weaker and falls to her knees. SHI jumps off her shoulder.

Mukotsu: You can't run away from Lord Mukotsu's poison.

SHI:   Kagome, hang in there!

Mukotsu: So you're the girl who has the Sacred Jewel fragments.

SHI:   (panting) Kagome. Kagome!

KAG:  Run away… Shippo…

SHI:   No way!

BACK TO PRESENT.

SHI:   They've taken the antidote. Why didn't it work? Anyway, I have to put out the fire.

SHI lays out all his toys and looks at them seriously.

SHI:   (digs into clothes) Something… I need something. (takes out toy top) With the wind that this top creates… (jumps and spins top) Fox spell, Crushing Top!

The top enlarges and spins on the ground, creating a strong wind. The fire, due to the fanning of the wind, spreads.

SHI:   The fire got worse!

Cute KIR, sleeping next to SAN, pricks up her ears and wakes. She looks up to find the ceiling about to fall. She fuzzes her fur and hisses.

SHI:   Kirara!

[ End of ACT I: 13min 41sec ]

[ ACT II ]

Back to INU and RKS.

INU:   (points TET at RKS) You set fire to the temple!

RKS:  (laughs) A little present for them. They're dying from the poison anyway.

INU:   Get out of my way!

INU sprints up the steps towards RKS. Suddenly, an axe flies out and the chain at its end tangles around TET.

INU:   (struggles) What…!

It is GKS, who is pulling onto the chain tightly. RKS then throws some strings at INU, and sends flames down the strings towards INU, burning him.

INU:   Damn!

RKS:  (laughs) I can't let you in.

INU:   You…!

Cut to KOG-gang running.

KOG:  (stops, thinking) Why do I keep smelling grave dirt and dead people?

JKS:   Are you Koga of the Wolf Demon Tribe?

GIN:  Not another weirdo.

KOG:  Hey, you. Are you an ally of that monster Kyokotsu? You have the same smell. Are you here for revenge?

JKS:   (examines KOG) You look pretty cute in that little kilt. (sighs) But he's not my type.

KOG:  (to HAK & GIN) Hey, what's this idiot talking about?

Hakkaku & GIN: No idea.

JKS:   I'll just finish you off quickly. (throws sword at KOG)

KOG:  (dodges and runs towards JKS) We'll see about that!

JKS retracts and throws his sword at KOG again. KOG swerves.

KOG:  (thinking) What's with this sword? It twists around like a snake.

JKS:   (retracts sword) I'm in a hurry, so let's make it fast. How am I supposed to get back in time to see Inuyasha?

KOG:  What? Hey, what do you mean? You said something about Inuyasha.

JKS:   Do you know Inuyasha?

KOG:  I don't care about Inuyasha! He's supposed to have a cute girl with him. Is she… in danger?!

JKS:   Shut up. That stupid girl… She should be dead by now! (throws sword at KOG)

KOG:  (dodges) What did you say?!

Cut to burning temple. Cute KIR has transformed to her large form and is holding up a fallen pillar, which would have collapsed onto MIR, SAN and KAG. KIR growls in pain.

SHI:   Kirara, Kirara! Hang in there! Your wounds…

CUT TO FLASHBACK from previous episode, when KIR fought GKS. KIR pounces. GKS releases a metal clamp from his hand at KIR, who dodge. The clamp swerves, opens and grabs KIR from the back. KIR growls in pain. GKS then retracts the clamp a little and slams KIR onto the wall on the outside of the cave. KIR collapses to the ground as GKS releases and retracts his clamp.

BACK TO PRESENT.

SHI:   I'll move the pillar now! (pushes pillar in vain) Everyone is about to stop breathing… Wake up, you guys! (gives up and pants) We're done for!

Part of the burning ceiling falls.

SHI:   That's right, I shouldn't be crying. I have to be strong. (rubs eyes) I have to protect everyone until Inuyasha returns. But… I can't carry everyone out! (knocks head) What should I do?! Think hard! There's got to be a way!

Cut to KAG still unconscious.

Back with INU and RKS.

INU:   Kagome… Wait for me!

RKS:  Give up, Inuyasha. Your friends are going to die. Whether they burn to death, or die from the poison… You can't save them.

INU:   Shut up!!!

INU runs towards RKS, but GKS pulls at the chain, making INU stop.

INU:   Damn…

Back in the temple. SHI is standing in front of the group, holding his hands up.

SHI:   I have to be strong. I have to be strong! I have to be strong!!!

Back with INU, RKS and GKS.

INU:   (struggling) Ginkotsu…!

GKS:  (chuckles) Let me show you something. (opens his chest to reveal a large drill) I'll have you skewered!

INU:   You bastard…

Cut to SHI in the temple, crying. Cut to an unconscious KAG.

Back with INU, RKS and GKS. GKS tugs at the chain, pulling INU downwards. INU gets a foothold and struggles to hold on. INU shouts and throws TET into GKS's chest. TET reverts to its rusty state. The chain around TET tangles around the drill on GKS's chest, stopping it.

GKS:  (laughs) Once you lose that sword, you're dead!

INU:   You think so? (pulls at RKS's threads) Iron Reaver, Soul Stealer!

The threads break. RKS is taken aback.

RKS:  What?!

INU sprints towards GKS.

GKS:  Go to hell, bastard! (spins steel plates at INU)

INU:   (dodging and running) I don't have any time to waste on you bastards!

INU grabs TET from GKS's chest. The steel plates return and cut GKS.

INU:   Wind Scar!!!

INU throws a Wind Scar at GKS, who shrieks in pain as he is cut in various places and explodes.

INU:   (looks at temple) The temple…! Miroku, Sango, Kagome!!! (runs up steps) Get out of my way! (leaps past RKS)

RKS:  He can't even spare the time to kill me. Stupid bastard. (scoffs) Now I know what a bastard Naraku is, and the Sacred Jewel fragments are mine. (looks at KAG's container of fragments in his hand) Well, I suppose I can let them off for now.

A few poison insects appear and carry the remaining head and torso of GKS away.

Cut to INU standing in front of the burning temple.

INU:   Kagome! (runs in) KAGOME!!!

Back with KOG and JKS. KOG leaps and punches towards JKS. JKS leaps and dodges. JKS throws his sword at KOG, who dodges.

JKS:   Wow, I'm shocked… (thinking) Nobody has ever been able to evade my Snake-Bone sword. This idiot… is pretty strong.

KOG spins into a whirlwind and runs off.

JKS:   (shocked) H-Hey!

KOG:  I don't have the time to play with you now, but be prepared to die the next time we meet!

GIN and HAK run after him.

HAK:  Wait up, Koga!

GIN:  He runs really fast, doesn't he?

Back in the burning temple.

INU:   Kagome!!!

A burning pillar falls in front of INU.

Cut to KOG running.

KOG:  Kagome…!

Back in the burning temple. INU looks around. KIR's soft mew is heard from a rubble behind INU.

INU:   (gasps and turns around) Kirara?!

KIR mews again. INU finds cute KIR unconscious in the pile of rubble.

INU:   Kirara!

KIR opens her eyes.

INU:   (moves away the pillars in the rubble) Kirara!

KIR mews and tries to stand, but she collapses back to the ground. INU reaches KIR.

INU:   Kirara!!!

KIR looks behind her. INU gasps. SHI is behind her, trying to maintain his fox fire.

INU:   Shippo!

SHI:   (turns around as the fox fire burns out, crying) Inuyasha!

INU:   (kneels next to SHI) You're alright…

SHI:   (crying) I… I… I had to be strong. Be strong!

INU:   You protected everyone from the heat with your fox fire.

SHI:   (whimpers) But…but… But… Even though I was strong…

INU notices KAG, SAN and MIR still unconscious behind SHI.

SHI:   Everyone stopped breathing!!!

SHI wails sadly and helplessly. INU gasps and looks at everyone.
